Day 1: Cusco - Santa Maria - Santa Teresa Begin your Inca Jungle Trail to Machu Picchu with a 6:00 AM pickup from Cusco, traveling to the Abra Malaga Pass. After a safety briefing, embark on a three-hour downhill bike ride towards Humanmarca. The journey offers views of distant snow-capped peaks and a changing climate. Post biking, a short minivan trip takes you to Santa Maria for lunch. Optionally, you can choose river rafting on the Urubamba River (at an extra cost of 100 Soles and participants must know swimming). The day concludes with a drive to Santa Teresa, where accommodations feature a basic room with a private bathroom Day 2: Santa Teresa to Aguas Calientes Begin the day with a traditional breakfast served by our crew. Afterward, you're offered the choice of engaging in canopy zip-lining (additional 100 Soles). Should you choose to pass, we'll initiate our trek towards Aguas Calientes, the base town for Machu Picchu. The journey spans about three hours, taking us through the picturesque Aobamba Valley up to the Intihuana checkpoint. During our trek, we'll pause for lunch and appreciate the scenic beauty of cascading waterfalls, warm hot springs, and majestic views of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu. Our path then follows the railway tracks, leading us into Aguas Calientes where we'll be staying for the night. Day 3: Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu and Back to Cusco Kicking off early from our Aguas Calientes hotel, our aim is to capture the sunrise illuminating the iconic Incan citadel of Machu Picchu. At 04:30 AM, we'll embark on an uphill journey from Aguas Calientes. You can either challenge yourself with the 1,500 Incan steps or opt for a 20-minute bus ride at a cost of USD 12. Once inside Machu Picchu, our knowledgeable guide will provide an in-depth tour, shedding light on vital structures like significant temples, sacrificial sites, the Incan clock, and more. Post-tour, seize some personal time to delve deeper into the serene ambiance of this ancient Incan city. For those with permits to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, our guide will navigate you to the starting point. Concluding our exploration, we'll regroup at the Aguas Calientes train station, take the train to Ollantaytambo, and then by road, head back to your Cusco accommodation.
