Day 1:Upis – Arapas - Yanacocha – Pucacocha On Day 1 of the Ausangate Trek, the journey begins at 5:00 am from Cusco, traveling through Ocongate and Tinque to reach Upis, where the muleteer team awaits. After a brief rest, the hike starts, targeting the Paso de Arapa at 16,404 feet. Post this, the trek continues alongside the Ausangate mountain towards Yanacocha for lunch. The day's route showcases four significant lakes: Yanacocha, Azul Cocha, Huchuy Puca Cocha, and Puca Cocha. The camp is set by these lakes, offering views of snow-capped peaks and Andean camelids. Day 2: Pucacocha – Pucacocha pass – Ananta - Warmisaya – Surinecocha On the second day of the Ausangate Trek, after a hearty breakfast, we'll head to the Puca Cocha pass, offering splendid views of the Ausangate peak and its eternal glaciers. The journey then descends to Ananta for a break and lunch. Post-lunch, the trek leads to the Warmisaya pass, showcasing the captivating Red Valley and the famous seven-colored mountain. The day concludes by the tranquil Surinacocha lagoon, which serves as our overnight campsite.
